Rotherham Council reports significant reduction in sickness absence levels.

Rotherham MBC Assistant Chief Executive, Alan Swann, reported a signifcant reduction in musculo-skeletal absence in a feature published in Occupational Health at Work this month. 

Mr Swann reported that access to early evidence-based physiotherapy has reduced absence levels by as much as 31%, saving the council over £350,000 annually. RehabWorks Ltd the specialist occupational physiotherapy and rehabilitation provider were selected to deliver the service which resulted in a signifcant reduction in the length of time employees were absent with an overall 57% improvement in time lost due to MSD-related absence in the pilot Residential and Day Care Service.

The report also outlines the positive feedback that were received from both employees and referring managers.
