RehabWorks has been celebrating as client Northumbrian Water has won the WorkWell Big Tick 2012 award, following the introduction of its support programme for staff.
RehabWorks has been working with Northumbrian Water (NWL) since 2008 to reduce sickness absence due to musculoskeletal disorders.
RehabWorks physiotherapist Angela Power attended the regional Business in the Community Awards with NWL for the announcement they would be going to London as regional winners.
Andy Holdcroft, RehabWorks CEO, said: “Northumbrian Water is a worthy winner of such a prestigious award.
“Their focus on staff wellbeing has clearly demonstrated how investing in staff can reduce absence and staff turnover and have a positive return on investment.”
In addition to the RehabWorks physiotherapy service, NWL has also introduced a variety of support programmes to support those suffering from stress and mental health issues.
Sarah Salter, Group HR director, who represented the company in London with colleague, Sharon Ravenhall, HR and wellbeing manager said: “This award is a fabulous achievement for the company, with recognition that over a number of years we have developed an excellent service to help to our people stay fit and healthy.
“These wellbeing services are here for everyone and we always encourage people to ask for help when life gets tough.”
NWL also picked up national ‘Big Tick’ awards for Environmental Leadership, Education and Wellbeing which then went on to be chosen as the national example of excellence title winner.
