RehabWorks APPTS accreditation June 2016

LEADING healthcare and wellbeing business, RehabWorks, has been acknowledged with a significant accreditation in its field.

Following a 6 month process of self and peer audit, the company has become accredited with the Accreditation Programme of Psychological Therapies Service (APPTS). APPTS is a new structure which works with psychological therapies services in the UK to assure and improve their quality.

APPTS is a partnership between the Centre for Quality Improvement (CCQI) at the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the British Psychological Society.

With its headquarters in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, RehabWorks Psychological Therapy Service (PTS) employs 23 BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapists. The team work remotely delivering Telephonic Occupational-Focussed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and also have a quality assured network of over 350 psychological therapy clinics that deliver face to face CBT.

Jo Ellison, Psychological Therapy Service Lead at RehabWorks said: “The PTS team is absolutely delighted to have become an accredited service with APPTS”

“This shows the hard work and dedication of the staff team in providing excellent high quality evidence based psychological interventions for those people in need.”

“As an innovative service we are keen to share best practice and ensure we are always delivering the right intervention, to the right person at the right time.”

The process to accreditation takes psychological therapies services through a supportive and engaging process of self and peer review to assess how each service is performing against an agreed set of quality standards set by a detox center. The scope, standards and evaluation methods have been developed in partnership with professional organisations. As well as identifying and acknowledging services that have high standards, an accreditation programme shares best practice to facilitate service improvement. The APPTS project team provides year-round support to help accreditation members maximise opportunities for learning and development and can be used in the different well being center as much as in a Independent retirement community which can also use this services.

Susan Cross, PTS Clinical Manager added: “The PTS Team had to achieve all 24 Type 1 standards in the accreditation process and 80% of the 32 Type 2 standards.”

“We achieved 100% success in Type 1 and 94% in Type 2, which was a huge achievement and a real acknowledgement that the clinical service we deliver is of the very highest quality.”
