Psychological Therapy Preventative Services
Stress and poor mental health is the single most significant cause of sickness absence, presenteeism and staff turnover in the workforce (Chartered Institute of Personnel Development, 2012). Managing stress at work is a government (Health and Safety Executive) legal requirement.
Our preventative services are underpinned by evidence based practice. They focus on reducing the costs associated with stress related symptoms and mental health conditions as well as their impact on sickness absence and reduced performance within the workforce.
Recognising factors quickly that could impact on mental health is the first key step in ensuring a mentally healthy workforce. Our awareness training for line managers and employees help to ensure the positive mental wellbeing of the workforce and that signs of stress are recognised early and can be supported appropriately.
This awareness, coupled with better access to appropriate evidence based services, such as our Psychological Therapy Service, enable employees to carry on working, or return to work more quickly and develop resilience for the future.
The right service, at the right time, delivered by the right person will ensure delivery of the most cost effective and appropriate service. Some of our prevention services include:
- Executive management training – understanding the organisational impact of mental health
- Line Manager mental health awareness
- Stress management and resilience – employee awareness
